Mr. Hale serves as SRS’ Director of Operations. His experience in hazardous materials emergency response and qualifications as a certified Explosive Ordnance Disposal Specialist as well as his qualifications as an instructor give SRS the capabilities not only to respond and manage field activities, but also to provide training and instruction. He also brings research, development, and engineering talents for developing new techniques in the industry.
Professional Experience:
From 1979 to 1985, Mr. Hale served with the U.S. Army beginning his military career as a military policeman and then transferring to the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit. He received comprehensive emergency response training in the military and received several commendations for his performance on assignments. He provided EOD support to the U.S. Secret Service and State Department for the protection of the President and other high profile individuals. He also provided EOD support to the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms on explosive-related matters. He has been an instructor for military and civilian classes on EOD topics, such as bomb threat search and contingency plans, and explosive awareness.
Mr. Hale continued in the emergency response industry as a project manager with environmental companies and instructor and firefighter/EMT with city and government entities. He has worked with Western Emergency Services, Inc., North Texas Council of Governments, Tarrant County Community College Fire Training Academy, EmTech Environmental Services, Inc., and he worked fifteen years for the Arlington Fire Department.
Mr. Hale has responded to and managed hazardous emergency incidents including explosives, improvised explosive devices, reactive/explosive emergencies, railcar emergencies, derailments, compressed gas, plant explosions, fires, chemical transfers (flammable, poison and corrosive), and military ordnance items. He is a recognized instructor on these subjects. He has engineered/designed several new tools and techniques for the emergency response industry. In 1988, Mr. Hale was published in Explosive Awareness, a report and study done for the North Texas Council of Governments.
