Mr. Simmons has managed hazardous material responses and field personnel since the late 70’s. His understanding of EHS and Quality Management adds to the already strong response capabilities of SRS.
Professional Experience:
Mr. Simmons has worked for Shell Chemical at the Geismar, Louisiana facility since 1978. Beginning his career around railcars, he eventually supervised shipping operations and two tank farm operations. He served as a member of the Transportation Emergency Response Team beginning in 1992, becoming captain in 1996. He was the Hazmat focal point for transportation issues for the entire Geismar facility. He also participated in emergency response drills as judge. In 2000, he moved from Geismar to Houston where he served as a member of the Response Action Group receiving transportation emergency calls and dispatching RAT teams as required.
Throughout his career with Shell Chemical, Mr. Simmons has proven his ability to manage teams of employees and large scale projects. He ensured Best Practices were followed in managing his area of EHS. He was responsible for performance reviews and ensuring annual job certifications were kept in compliance with State and Federal Reguations.
